Hong Kong’s Politician Answers Ethereum Co-Founder’s Comments on Crypto

Hong Kong-based Legislative Council member named Johnny Ng recently responded to the comments that Vitalik Buterin (Ethereum co-founder). The comments were related to Hong Kong’s crypto-friendliness in the future. Johnny Ng reacted to this on social media on the 15th of September. In this respect, he made a sincere invitation to Buterin, persuading him to visit the Chinese special administrative region to better comprehend it.

Hong Kong’s Legislative Council Member Reacts to the Comments of Vitalik Buterin over Crypto-Friendliness

In addition to this, he also mentioned that he would collaborate with different enterprises and entities. As per him, this will provide a better opportunity to learn about Hong Kong’s situation. On the 14th of this month, Buterin appeared at the Web3 Transition Summit which was held in Singapore. On that occasion, the Ethereum co-founder said that he did not have substantial knowledge about Hong Kong.

Moreover, he mentioned that his knowledge about the communication between the mainland and Hong Kong is even lesser. Apart from that, he commented on the current situation of the region regarding the suitability of crypto entities. He disclosed that if a company intends to operate within Hong Kong, it would require some confidence.

He added that just the statement about Hong Kong’s present friendliness with the cryptocurrency will not be sufficient. According to him, such companies will require assurance that the reason will remain crypto-friendly in the next years.

Additionally, he said that Hong Kong’s crypto friendliness will depend on the other events that have not taken place yet. Then he posed a question regarding the extent of the stability of the respective friendliness. In response to this question, Ng straightly addressed Buterin and assured him that the policies would not alter overnight.
